Frequently Asked Questions
Do you provide car park facilities?
There are no parking restrictions on Victoria Road and there is ample road parking. If you have young children or need to park directly outside the studio, I have a driveway available.
What should I wear / bring?
I generally advise families to be in a similar tone of clothing to, avoiding heavily patterned clothes with bold logos (this just distracts from your faces!). If you are thinking about a black and white then all dressing in very dark clothes works better as does all being in very light. It is usually best to avoid a combination of light and dark. I recommend bringing a change of clothes if you would like to achieve several different looks. Also, feel free to bring along some favorite toys for the children or something that is relevant or important to you. This may include a hobby or interest, i.e. a musical instrument.
What if we don’t like any of the photos you take?
In the unlikely event that I have not captured the images you would like, I would always offer to re-do the portrait again (no cost involved). This can sometimes happen with very young children or babies when they are tired. However, I am happy to book times which best suit your children.
What if I’m not sure if I want black and white, or colour?
You don’t have to decide this until you have chosen your final pictures. All the images are digital files, shot in colour but these can be converted to black and white at a later stage. We can also apply other finishes and enhancements if you would like different effects with your images.
What if I want my images enhanced or retouched?
On all pictures, I make general adjustments to ensure the contrast, brightness etc are perfect. I make local adjustments (for example, removing blemishes or spots) depending on what you require. Images can be stylised, for example, sepia toned or softening applied.
When and how do I pay?
Payment can be by cheque, cash, credit/debit card or bank transfer.
We would like some photos outside, is that possible?
Yes, it is. We can go to a location of your choice within Oxfordshire for £25. However, if you book into the studio sitting (with no fee) we are always happy to shoot some of your session in the local Victorian park which is just a couple of minutes walk away.
How long does it take to get my photos?
Depending on whether you want the pictures framed, generally photos take about a week to get printed. However, if you have a tight deadline, it’s possible to get prints or digital files in 3 working days.
What happens if I need to cancel?
I understand that sometimes cancellations are unavoidable. Just call me up and let me know about cancellations. If you need to cancel your wedding booking, the deposit is non-refundable.
